We met on January 23rd and 24th and had a lively discussion about The Constant Princess by Philippa Gregory. We also delved into the historical background of the times, including the reign of Henry VIII and Katharine of Aragon (the constant princess) and Henry's three children who reigned after his death -- the most famous of which was Elizabeth I, the daughter of Anne Boleyn and Henry.
Several people expressed an interest in pursuing further reading on the period, and to that end we recommend you visit the NoveList website, which you can access from the Library's home page www.oakbluffslibrary.org by clicking on the NoveList icon. Use your Oak Bluffs library card number as your Patron ID.
The next book discussion group will be held on February 27th and 28th. We will be discussing My Sister's Keeper by Jodi Picoult. Books and tapes are available now at the Circulation Desk.
